Health - Note about Green Tea
Introduction
Green tea is a type
of tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis,
that has undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originates from China and has become associated
with many cultures in Asia from Japan to the Middle East.
Health Benefits
The International Journal of Obesity mentions green tea as having poly phenols which
produce extra heat in the body and burn calories
It contains Epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG, which may be able to obliterate
cancer cells without disturbing neighbouring tissues
People on green tea diets are more likely to use up fats than people not using green tea
Reduces the risk of strokes
Improves the function of your immune system
Deals with depression, heart palpitations, and hypertension
Cooking
Note: One teaspoon (5 ml) of green tea leaves per one cup of water. This will yield one cup of brewed tea. This is for one cup.
- Fill a bowl or pan (glass or stainless steel) with water.
- Heat it to about 80 °C or near to boiling point.
- Now stop heating the water and add one teaspoon of grean tea leaves into the heated water.
- Soak the green tea leaves for about 5 minutes in a closed bowl or pan, but not any longer.
- Separate out the leaves and water.
- Enjoy your perfect cup of green tea.
