1. How do i get a Learner's License (LL)? (Both two and four wheeler) -
RTO version
- You need to know how to ride two wheeler and/or drive four wheeler
- Have the following with you (both original and photocopies - each one copy)
- Age proof - SSLC marks card (recommended)
- Address proof - Passport, telephone bill (the one which is in your name)
- 4 passport sized photos

Go to the RTO center
which covers your home
region
- by 9:30 AM on weekdays to avoid huge rush on weekends
- Pay Rs. 30/- for an LL application at the Treasury counter and get a receipt (you can opt both 2 and/or 4 wheeler in one application itself)
- Fill up the application details such as name, address, sign, etc and paste a photo
- Attach the photocopy of age and adress proof, and 2 photos to the application and pin-up
- Give the application to the review officer and get it reviewed
- Then you need to go to the inspector

Take up a small test (sample paper) consisting around 20 questions on traffic
signals and sign boards
- Get the answers validated and see that whether you have passed or failed
- If you have passed the test, then they will tell you to come again 3-4 hrs later and collect the LL
- If you have not passed the test, then you must contact the inspector for more details on this scenario
2. How do i get a Driver's License (DL)? (Both two and four wheeler)
- You need to know how to ride two wheeler and/or drive four wheeler
- Download the application form here and fill it or you can get at your nearest RTO centre
- Have the following with you (both original and photocopies - each one copy)
- Age proof - SSLC marks card (recommended)
- Address proof - Passport, telephone bill (the one which is in your name)
- 4 passport sized photos
- Latest insurance documents
- Latest emission test certificate
- Registration Certificate (RC) book
- Your learner's license (LL)

Go to the RTO center

region
- by 9:30 AM on weekdays to avoid huge rush on weekends
- Pay Rs. 90/-: - Rs. 40/- towards license book fee and Rs. 50/- towards driving test fee at the Treasury counter and get a receipt (you can opt both 2 and/or 4 wheeler in one application itself)
- Attach the photocopy of age and adress proof, LL, and 3 photos to the application and pin-up
- Give the application to the review officer and get it reviewed
- Then you need to go to the inspector for driving test - Here the inspector asks you to - park, show hand signals for right, left, slowdown, and stop, and ride/drive one round with hand signals.
- If you have passed the test, then they will tell you to come again after 7 days after 16:00 - 17:30 Hrs and collect the driving license
- If you have not passed the test, then you must contact the inspector for more details on this scenario
